Fire Compartmentation Survey & Fire Stopping Installation
Element was commissioned by Sykes and Sons Limited to conduct a detailed survey of their student accommodation buildings. The primary aim of the survey was to identify any potential fire safety hazards that could put residents at risk. Our team of experts conducted a thorough inspection of each building, examining walls, floors, ceilings, and service penetrations in order to carry out a comprehensive fire compartmentation survey. The objective was to identify any areas of concern or breaches that required immediate attention.
In response to the survey findings, Element quickly implemented remedial actions to address the identified fire safety risks. We implemented targeted solutions to ensure that all safety measures met the required standards, effectively mitigating any potential hazards and safeguarding both the building and its occupants. Our partnership with Sykes and Sons Limited exemplifies a proactive commitment to fire safety, as our thorough survey and prompt remedial works significantly improved the safety of the student accommodation residents.
With our expertise and attention to detail, Element effectively managed all fire safety risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining the building’s security. During our project, we faced a significant challenge related to the active nature of the student accommodation building. As the building was occupied throughout the day, maintaining consistent communication with the university was crucial. We had to make sure that the university had a clear understanding of start times, restrictions, and other logistical aspects to minimize disruptions to the residents’ daily routines and activities. Effective communication allowed us to coordinate our work efficiently, ensuring that our fire safety efforts seamlessly integrated with the ongoing operations of the accommodation. By proactively addressing these challenges, we successfully balanced the need for fire safety enhancements with the smooth functioning of the student accommodation, providing a secure living environment for the residents while minimizing any inconveniences they may have experienced.
